Eat and Drink

The Sage Gateshead is an anytime kind of place. You don't have to be attending a concert to drop in for a drink, a snack or a meal and take pleasure in the sounds of live music being made around you while you enjoy the views.

Our Sir Michael Straker Cafe, brasserie and four bars are located right in the heart of our spectacular glazed Concourse and command unrivalled views of the River Tyne and its surrounding cityscape.

Our Sir Michael Straker Café serves from early till late, offering a wide range of snacks and drinks. We offer freshly ground coffee that is organic, Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance compliant, whilst our in-house bakery produces a range of snacks for everyone. Throughout the day, our Café also offers hot food, from freshly made soup to an ever-changing array of hearty hot meals.

The brasserie opens daily from 12noon until 3pm and 5pm until 10pm, offering a two course menu from £14.95 or a three course menu from £17.95; our evening menu is designed especially for those attending a performance.  We also offer the chance to pre-order a dessert and drinks for the interval for those who like to take an easy pace.  The Brasserie is also open for traditional Northumberland Sunday roast between 12noon and 3pm and is ideal for a family celebration. With last orders at 10pm, dining after a concert is a great alternative. Reservations can be made on our dedicated reservation number 0191 443 4654.

Our four bars offer a range of drinks second to none. Hall Two bar offers a selection of local guest real ales and sometimes we even help to create our own!  Interval drinks may be pre-ordered from each bar to avoid the rush, allowing even more time to enjoy the spectacular views from the balconies.

Our ice cream is made by Doddington's Dairy in Northumberland and is free from artificial flavours and colourings. It's delicious by the way!

In our private entertainment boxes and entertainment space, The Barbour Room, we can cater for your special occasions including weddings as well as conferences and corporate events.
